The DK Schoolhouse Primary Program follows the UK National Primary Program and is adapted from the Danish core curriculum from the Danish Ministry for Children, Education and Gender Equality. Our accredited Khmer program is modified from the Cambodian elementary school curriculum, recognized by the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Our primary program nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in the lifelong journey of learning. Our program challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore learning opportunities in real-life context.
In class, students experience a broad range of tasks designed to help them develop and strengthens their knowledge and skills across subject areas. Tasks are varied and tailored to suit the ages and developmental levels of individual students.
Language Arts, Reading, Mathematics, Economics, S.T.E.M. and Music are the primary subjects offered. Our program balances structured learning with play-based experiences and alternative learning opportunities outside the classroom.
We are also excited to introduce a new and cutting edge subject for our 1st – 3rd grade students: Robotics! It combines basic training in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, also known as S.T.E.M. Students work with a variety of blocks, motors, remote controls, main boards, LED and CDS sensors. Through guided building projects they will learn the foundation principals of assembly process, construction, programming and coding. All of these skills are essential to understanding and creative Robots, which is the technology trend of the future.
