NURSERY (18 – 24 months)
Our NURSERY program is for children aged 18 months – 2 years. Children at this age are just starting to develop their vocabulary and test out their independence. Providing a calm and safe environment conducive to learning is a top priority in Nursery. Our teachers work with students to form strong bonds and help transfer trust from primary caregivers. We use sensory activities and small-group experiences to help children explore, build social skills and learn about their environment. Singing, dancing and messy play are the highlights of our day!
PRE- KINDERGARTEN (Ages 2-4 years)
Small hands are always busy exploring in the preschool classes! The PRE- Kindergarten learning environment is designed for exploration and discovery. Our program incorporates activities that help children communicate and develop basic fine and gross motor skills.
Building problem solving skills & social awareness is a major aspect of our PRE -Kindergarten curriculum. We work with children to develop self-awareness, effective communication and resiliency. As children progress through the PRE-Kindergarten program, activities advance to include counting and pre-reading / writing. Painting, puzzles & pretend play, musical development and sensory exploration are just some of the many fun activities our PRE-Kindergarten friends enjoy. Students in the second level of our PRE-Kindergarten program use the All About Reading Pre-Reading program, which gives students a fun introduction to recognizing their upper and lower case letters and identifying the correct sounds of these letters.

KINDERGARTEN (Ages 4 – 6 years)
Welcome to KINDERGARTEN! Our Kindergarten class is divided into two levels (4-5, and 5-6) and is designed to give children a strong foundation to prepare them for formal learning at primary levels. In KINDY-1, students rotate through a mix of free-choice and guided teacher-directed activities throughout the day. Beginner writing, reading practice and hands-on math are introduced. Cooking, clay modeling & relay-races are a few ways we have fun in Kindy-1. We use the accredited All About Reading Program (ARR) in both our kindergarten classes.
The second level of our Kindergarten program, KINDY-2 is the preparatory class for entering primary school. In KINDY-2 students carry on learning concepts of daily reading, emergent writing and hands-on math theories. KINDY-2 also enjoys science experiments and weekly social studies topics. Cross-word puzzles, beading, lego building & obstacle courses are the top activity picks in KINDY-2.

PRIMARY (Ages 6 – 10 years)
The DK Schoolhouse Primary English program is adapted from the Danish core curriculum from the Danish Ministry for Children, Education and Gender Equality. Our accredited Khmer program uses the Cambodian elementary school curriculum, recognized by the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Our primary program nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in the lifelong journey of learning. Our program challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore learning opportunities in real-life context.
In class, students experience a broad range of tasks designed to help them develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills across subject areas. Tasks are varied and tailored to suit the ages and learning levels of our students.
Language Arts, Mathematics, Economics, Science and Music are the primary subjects offered. Our program balances structured learning with play-based experiences and alternative learning opportunities outside the classroom.
